Belle Meade

Belle Meade

Named in honor of the famous thoroughbred farm, Belle Meade is a residential area due south of downtown. Take a drive through this area, and you’ll see enormous homes, whose Victorian and Georgian-style hearken back to the days of the Old South. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to book a room in one of Belle Meade’s quaint bed and breakfast inns and be within walking distance of a few of the community’s fine restaurants and upscale boutiques.

See & Do

Belle Meade Plantation is the centerpiece of the affluent Belle Meade region of Nashville. Inside, the restored building has been furnished with 19th-century antiques that hint at the elegance and wealth that the Southern gentility enjoyed in the late 1800s. Tours led by costumed guides follow a theme (for example, holidays, aspects of plantation life, and so on) that changes every 3 months. Belle Meade’s parklike grounds make it a popular site for festivals throughout the year.

Eat

Sperry’s opened its doors in Belle Meade in May of 1974 and now has a second location in Cool Springs. With over 34 years of great service, they offer only the finest USDA premium select aged western beef and freshest seafood available. Sperry’s also holds the Wine Spectator award of excellence with over 250 selections on their wine list. Delicious, decadent, and divine – it’s the perfect spot for a family dinner or romantic date.

Party

Live jazz is presented nightly at this suburban outpost of chic. An extensive wine list and upscale dinner menu enhance its appeal for culture vultures. Free valet parking is an added perk at this classy establishment, located a stone’s throw from the Mall at Green Hills.

Stay

Conveniently located off Interstates 24 and 65, Days Inn Downtown – Nashville West Trinity Lane is a Nashville airport hotel near Nashville Superspeedway at an excellent value.

Shop

Spalding offers some of the finest antiques and interior furnishings. If you’re a fan of unique, rare, and plush finds – this is the place for you. From colorful throw pillows to upscale rugs and antiques, there’s something for even the most discerning eye.
